A revitalized the Russian player claimed his initial trophy for over two years with success over opponent Moutet in the Almaty Open championship match.

The athlete, a former number one, has experienced a torrid season, achieving just one win at the big events and undergoing a difficult moment at the US Open.

The player's unpredictability on the tennis tour - and difficulties with his service game in especial - resulted in him exiting of the world's top 10 and ultimately parting ways with long-term coach Cervara.

Now collaborating with Johansson and his other coach, Medvedev has consistently advanced in the recent weeks - culminating in a closely contested three-set win over challenger Moutet.

It is the player's first title since the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hard court after March of the previous year.

The win also signifies Medvedev has won twenty-one titles at twenty-one distinct tournaments.

"It's the first time I have attended a tournament with my both daughters at once, so to win a championship is especially meaningful," stated world number 14 Medvedev.

"This victory is in dedication of my child Victoria, because the first title I got when my first daughter her name was born was for her."

The tennis star, the past champion, had failed in his past six title deciders, including in the German tournament in the past months.

His defensive strategy and regular outbursts on the tennis court had caused some to doubt if his skill to play at the highest level was concluded.

However the 29-year-old has altered his approach in the last few weeks, striving to advance forward and perform assertively, reinforced by an better service.

He recovered from a disadvantage in the initial set against the challenging opponent, winning four of the concluding five exchanges to take the lead.

Both players swapped service breaks in the middle set before the Frenchman, attempting for his first ATP Tour title, gained dominance to push for a third set.

The opponent defended 4 early opportunities in a tight third set before Medvedev won the break to fifteen to close out the victory.

Fittingly, the winner clinched victory with a point at the net, with his opponent failing to handle a volley after over two and a half hours.
