According to new allegations from a whistleblower, Ghislaine Maxwell, now completing a two-decade sentence for trafficking offenses, is allegedly readying a clemency request for consideration by the presidential administration.

Preferential Handling Alleged at Federal Prison

Congressional Democrats on the House judiciary committee announced that a source provided information indicating Maxwell is preparing the clemency petition. They also stated she has been receiving special treatment at the federal prison camp in Texas.

Congressman Jamie Raskin, the ranking member on the committee, stated in a news release that the facility's chief was “helping” the convict with document preparation and submission to support her bid for executive mercy.

The exact content of the “commutation application” remain unknown, Raskin added.

Alleged Privileges and Special Accommodations

Raskin states that, per the insider, Maxwell has been receiving “customized” meals that are hand-delivered to her living area, and the warden has individually organized exclusive visits for her and her visitors.

These meetings reportedly involve a designated private space for visitors and a variety of food and drinks for her guests.

Those visiting Maxwell were also reportedly permitted to bring computers, which Raskin described as an exceptional measure given the security risk and chance of unmonitored communications.

Reportedly on one occasion, when communications failed for other prisoners, Maxwell was provided directions about instructing her associates to call and how staff would relay the call to her.

Warden as “Personal Secretary”

The source also allegedly told House Democrats that when the convict wanted to review and edit documents “quickly”, she reportedly employed the warden as her “personal secretary and administrative assistant”.

The statement states that those writing to her would email documents directly to the supervisor, who would hand them over to Maxwell, for her to examine and change and provide them back to the official to digitize and send to the original sender.

Additional Privileges Alleged

Further perks allegedly granted to Maxwell include time to “play with” a service dog puppy – a benefit not “ordinarily allowed” – as well as exclusive nighttime use to the facility's gym.

Her legal counsel has not yet replied to a request for comment regarding the insider's allegations.

Through a spokesperson, the White House said that it “does not comment” on possible pardon appeals.

“As President Trump has stated, granting clemency to the convict is not something he has thought about,” the representative noted.

Recent Background

Recently, it was reported that Maxwell told close associates in emails from prison that she was “much happier” at the new prison than her former location.

This past summer, she was moved from a low-security prison in Tallahassee, Florida to the less restrictive prison in the state, where most detainees are serving time for financial and non-violent crimes.

The transfer, which authorities called as exceptional, occurred just shortly following she was questioned about the Epstein case by the deputy attorney general, Todd Blanche, who also previously served as the President's personal lawyer.

This questioning came as the administration was facing increasing scrutiny to release more documents related to the Epstein investigation and amid widespread conjecture around the President's own connections to the fallen billionaire and adjudicated criminal, who was found deceased in custody in that year while awaiting prosecution on sex-trafficking charges.

Lawmaker Reactions

Through the statement, the congressman also announced that he had sent a letter to the President, demanding answers about the whistleblower’s allegations, and urged the chief executive to deny Maxwell’s commutation request.

“It would be inappropriate to approve any form of clemency to this convicted and unrepentant sex offender,” Raskin wrote in the document. “Your Administration should not be providing her with personal amenities, with puppies to play with, with government agents attending to her requests, or with any special treatment or facility benefit at all.”

Raskin requested that Blanche attend a open legislative session to address the disclosures and also presented several inquiries to Trump.

Raskin asked whether Trump had talked about a potential commutation for the convict with the official or others, whether he had directed Blanche or anyone else to provide Maxwell with the transfer or special conditions in detention, and whether she, her attorneys, family or agents have made any commitments to the President or his legal team.

The representative requested for a response to the questions by the specified date.

Last month, the nation's highest court rejected an appeal from Maxwell on her sex-trafficking conviction.
